Women set for WSOP Hall of Fame honours

By Mad Harper

888poker will be sponsoring this year’s Women in Poker Hall of Fame ceremony during the WSOP in Las Vegas.

Main Event Travel is 888poker’s main travel partner for the World Series of Poker.

Among the women up for selection on June 26 are WPTs General Manager for Europe Hermance Blum, 888poker ambassador Kara Scott, Maria Ho and poker-playing actress Jennifer Tilly.

Scott, who has anchored ESPN’s broadcast of the WSOP for many years, is a well-known poker commentator with more than $660,000 in live cashes.

Maria Ho is a record-breaking professional poker player, TV personality, ambassador and host/commentator. She’s currently ranked fourth on the GPI among female poker players in the world, and is 10th on the female all-time money list with over 2.7 million dollars in earnings.

Tilly burst onto the poker scene in 2005 when she outlasted over 600 women to win the Ladies Event at the WSOP – since then she has racked up nearly $1 million.

The other nominees are Shirley Rosario, WPT’s Angelica Hael and Mandy Glogow, writer Haley Hintze, Karina Jett, Terry King and Lupe Soto.
